7 Songs to Boost Your Mood

If you’re looking for a playlist to lift your spirits, here are a few songs worth checking out. Sometimes all we need to brighten our day is a little positivity, so pop on your headphones and give these tunes a listen!

1. “Happy” – Pharrell Williams

“Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth!” This catchy tune topped the charts with its upbeat tempo and positive lyrics that were written to be featured in the movie Despicable Me 2.

2. “We are Golden” – Mika

“Teenage dreams in a teenage circus, running around like a clown on purpose.” This isn’t Mika’s first foray into writing positive, feel-good music. His hit Big Girls (You Are Beautiful) preached self-love and positive body imaging.

3. “Love Generation” – Bob Sinclair

Feel the love generation.” A French record producer and house music DJ, Bob Sinclair took a break from creating club hits to write this impactful song that considers how you can spread love to everyone you meet.

“Well you, you make my dreams come true.” This classic hit has had people jumping out of their seats and dancing since it first came out in the 1980s. Plus, who couldn’t love a mustache that looks like that.

5. “We are Young” – Fun

“Tonight, we are young, so let’s set the world on fire. We can burn brighter than the sun.”A slower jam than some of the others on the list, this song by the aptly named band Fun encourages listeners to live in the moment. Just be careful if you take their advice to “set the world on fire.”

6. “On Top of the World” – Imagine Dragons

“I’ve had the highest mountains, I’ve had the deepest rivers, you can have it all but life keeps moving. I take it in but don’t look down. ‘Cause I’m on top of the world.” This is the kind of song that you play when you’re starting out on a big road trip with your best friends. Or, alternatively, when you’re looking to let it all out and dance alone in your room.

7. “Just Can’t Get Enough” – Depeche Mode

“And when it rains, you’re shining down for me, and I just can’t get enough,  I just can’t get enough.” Who doesn’t love a little electric piano paired with upbeat 80s rhythms? Depeche Mode truly delivers with this somewhat repetitive yet endlessly fun chart-topping classic.
