Various household items can be used to make and consume drugs, and without knowing, you could turn a blind eye to your teen’s possible drug use.
Spoons
Spoons are common household items that are used to melt injectable drugs. They may be found with lighters, matches, and elastic bands used to constrict blood flow.
Fruit
Fruit can be used to make a bong for smoking marijuana. Apples are common fruits to use for this purpose and will have small, dug-out holes in them if this is the case.
Storage Devices
Teens may use cosmetic cases, tupperware or other easily-accessible storage devices to keep their drugs and paraphernalia in. Zipper storage bags are also used to hold and transfer drugs.
Clips
Small metal clips (or roach clips) are used to hold the ends of joints and are easily accessible and cheap.
Belts
Belts, ties and exercise bands can all be used to tie off an arm or other limb for IV use. Your teen may leave these common items lying around while their drugs are stashed away.
